Bob was awarded the Don Crabtree Award by the Society for American Archeology recently at their annual convention which was held in Canada this year. The past eight years at Beaver Creek Knap-In and Primitive Skills Gathering, Bob has produced Edens, Folsoms, Clovis, Goshen, and side notch points to name just a few. A few of the many techniques he's covered at the Beaver Creek Knap-Ins include: direct percussion Folsom fluting with an antler billet, direct percussion Clovis fluting, the minute edge retouch on Folsom points, holding techniques for Extreme thinning as well as regular thinning of bifaces, how to produce the pronounced median ridge that is typical of Eden points, sequential edge flaking, hammerstone percussion, his unique right leg knapping style, and much more.
