All abo made from some tough Colorado jasper. Has a pronounced diamond shaped cross section

Material is tough Colorado jasper. Part of the flute fragment is shown to the left of the point. Flute was removed by direct percussion using an antler billet. The flute travelled nearly 2/3 of the length of the 3 in. point

Although hard to see in the photo the left edge has the extremely fine edge retouch which is a typical trademark of the original Folsoms. Bob uses antler with a special technique to produce the minute retouch. The right edge has not been retouched yet to show the differences. Very thin.

Extremely thin preform typical of Goshen points. Bob again left one edge unretouched (the left). At the stage shown in the picture he handed it to me and said "there is a story in here".

Bob uses a slightly different technique of keeping the preform more upright than flat and allowing the flakes to carry farther, with great success

Bob also uses his padded right leg as the backstop for his percussion technique (he is right handed)
